IP Camera

An IP camera, also known as an Internet protocol camera, can be described as a kind of security camera digital that receives and transmits video footage through the IP network. They are often employed for surveillance. Contrary to analog closed-circuit TV cameras (CCTV) IP cameras don't require a recording device on a local network or a network local to them. IP cameras are connected to networks similarly to computers and phones do.

HOW DO NETWORKED IP CAMERAS WORK?

Analog security cameras and analog-over-digital cameras require coaxial cable to transfer footage to the digital video recorder (DVR). In contrast, security cameras that are IP security cameras can send footage via a wireless connection. In particular, IP cameras are connected to an NVR (network video recorder). (NVR) through Wi-Fi or an Ethernet cable or USB. An IP camera captures footage in high definition-resolution can be as high as 16 megapixels, depending on the camera model. Every IP camera is equipped with a processor that compresses video footage when it's recorded. What exactly does this mean? The higher resolution of the camera the more information every video record has. High-resolution pictures need more space for storage as well as more bandwidth to transmit data over images of lower quality. In order to transmit HD images across networks, IP cameras must compress the images, or make them smaller so that they don't consume excessive bandwidth. Modern compression standards such as h.264 and MPEG-4 mean that there's an absence of a drop in resolution or tiny drops in resolution and frame rate when the video finally gets to your smartphone or your computer.

Here are some additional benefits of using IP cameras over CCTV cameras:

Cellular networks are the most user-friendly among the three, however, it's also one of the slowest. The general consensus is that Wi-Fi offers higher speeds for upload and download. The majority of IP cameras come with a cellular transmitter right out of the box, which means setup, installation, and connecting are a breeze.
